Great meeting yesterday in spite of the heavy rain. We met inside and 12 people attended including several massage professionals, a chiropractor, a personal trainer, a family therapist, an internet marketing expert, a writer, a restaurant owner, a Yoga instructor, a mediation instructor, an entrepreneur, and a local realtor….
Here is a Blog Post from Gina Smith who was kind enough to email this in for the website!
Last summer, 2014, this then 64 year old mother of two, soon to be granny, therapist and world traveler decided to pull of her roots and transplant to OB. This was where my grandbaby and her parents lived, and this is where I felt I needed to be.
It was love at first sight. In the late 60’s, I had lived in Haight Ashbury, and what I found here was that, with the addition of skateboarders and surfers! In addition to that, I also found a similar sense of community, of people being passionate and caring about where they lived. For me, this is the hallmark of where I want to be.
Delighted and amazed, I watched as things unfolded effortlessly during my settling in period. Whatever I needed, I found, and connected with many supportive groups of people, including the OB Networking group. ( thanks, Chuck, and all!)
I am an firm believer in the princlple of giving back, and a long time practitioner of Seva, the yogic philosophy of service to others. This is why I decided to make my skills and experience available to any and all members of the OB community.
Every Thursday, between the hours of 2-4 pm, I go to Veterans Park, down by the sea wall, with two chairs and my sign indicating that I listen from the heart…and welcome anyone to sit with me.
I follow my visitors lead. Sometimes I just listen. Sometimes I explain how therapy works, from my personal perspective. There are times when I simply make a new friend, and we share a laugh.
There have been days when I have had several visitors, other days when I have just hung out by the beautiful ocean, and enjoyed the beautiful environment and watched the people going past.
Any way I look at it, it’s a win-win situation. I get to hang out at the park, with the potential of making new connections. Come and take advantage of the service I am happy to provide!

Marisa Young of http://livingwell4younglife.com/ did a terrific job explaining her persepective on massage.
